Can my child get a criminal record?
Children between the ages of 12 and 18 can receive a criminal record; this is done in the same way as with adults. A HALT punishment is often used with minors, which is a punishment where further criminal charges are dropped. Both the offense and the completion of the HALT punishment are then not listed on the criminal record.
