Amsterdam kickboxing teacher acquitted of raping 13-year-old student
A kickboxing teacher from Southeast who was suspected of raping his 13-year-old student has been acquitted.
The kickboxing instructor (42) was accused that he allegedly raped a then 13-year-old pupil after a kickboxing training session. After everyone left the gym, he allegedly took her to another room upstairs in the building. There he allegedly locked the doors, groped her and finally forced her to perform oral sex. All this while the victim saw him as a father figure.
In the ruling, the court states that the victim's testimony is so consistent and detailed that there is no reason to doubt its reliability. However, as is often true in vice cases: it is the word of the perpetrator against the victim. Therefore, in the absence of other evidence, the court acquitted the teacher.
Explicit photographs
In doing so, the court followed the prosecutor. It too did not doubt the reliability of the student, but asked for acquittal for the same reason.
At the hearing, another allegation of transgressive behavior was discussed at length. For example, the teacher was in possession of explicit photographs of a 16-year-old student, against her will. The defendant stated she did not know she was a minor.
Because this allegation does not relate to what allegedly happened to the 13-year-old student, it could not serve as supporting evidence.
The kickboxing teacher has always denied the allegation. At the hearing, he said his student only wanted to share her personal problems with him that night, and nothing else had happened.
