4 years in prison demanded against man who said he was cancer patient and abused girl

The prosecutor's office (OM) has demanded four years in prison and tbs against a man who posed as a 15-year-old cancer patient to gain the trust of a 12-year-old girl. The 43-year-old suspect is also accused of sexually abusing the girl.

The man pretended on Snapchat to be a 15-year-old boy who was sick, writes the OM. He told the victim that he "could not send recent photos" because he had a bald head "due to cancer treatment."

The man managed to gain the girl's trust. They chatted a lot and the girl fell in love with the man, according to the prosecution. When the two see each other in real life for the first time, the girl asks questions. He discloses his true age. Two dates follow in which "sexual acts" take place.

The suspect says he "kissed and touched" her, but denies that he sexually penetrated her. He claims "no sexual intent," but that is contradicted in WhatsApp conversations between him and an adult woman. Messages between the girl and her friends also show that "sexual acts took place." Semen was also found during the investigation, the prosecution writes.

The prosecution suspects the man of lewdness, sexual intrusion and grooming (online child grooming). According to the prosecutor, the suspect "very grossly violated the physical, but certainly also the mental integrity of the girl." The man disregarded the feelings and emotions of a 12-year-old.

Suspect approached 370 girls and women this year

Further investigation reveals that the suspect has approached 370 different girls and women this year. According to the prosecution, the man has a preference for girls between 12 and 14 years old.

Previously convicted of sexual abuse with children and possession of child pornography, the man was psychologically examined, which revealed that the suspect suffers from personality disorders. He is therefore "diminished culpability," the prosecution writes. "But given the seriousness of the facts and the high risk of repetition," a non-suspended prison sentence is appropriate, according to the prosecutor.

The prosecution is therefore demanding a four-year prison sentence and tbs with injunctive relief. It is not known when the verdict will be.

The arrest of Vito Shukrula, lawyer for Ridouan Taghi, has hit like a bomb with fellow criminal lawyers. Well-known criminal lawyer Peter Plasman has been equally "shocked and bewildered" by the news. ,,It is of course only a suspicion, but after all the commotion you may assume that the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) will not act overnight. The OM will think they have a strong case. For now, I assume the prosecution has thought carefully about this arrest. Arresting a lawyer is a very heavy step.'' Plasman also cannot get over the fact that a lawyer seems to have once again functioned as an errand boy.

Will a pedometer provide a definitive answer to the death of 30-year-old Laura from Leiden? The Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) thinks so, but the lawyer of the victim's ex, Jordi L'Homme, expects nothing from it, it appeared Monday morning during the fifth preliminary hearing against suspect Paul V.

Let the Public Prosecutor's Office handle the lighter cases itself. Then judges can focus on the heavier cases so that there are enough cells for the convicts who really belong there, argues attorney Peter Plasman.
